So many Cigar boxes

My mother-in-law just shipped about 15 or so cigar boxes and my next door neighbor just gave me a few that he had laying around. SO now I have so many- I'm a bit overwhelmed .. I would like to do a bunch at once- especially for Christmas gives..

Inspiration Basquiat

SO when I was at Indie arts fest Symposium books had a rad sale and I usually pick up a few books. Basquiat was one of the few I indulged in.

Since then I have been repeatedly looking at his imagery and inspired to start working on a new concept and get the creative juices flowing.
this painting"Dog Bite/Ax to grind" I actually had to scan from the book to show you and this in not the entire image but it will give you an idea of why I like it.


I liked the blocks of colors behind and working together. so this is what I came up with..
