I am now back in Providence and finally have some time to update your all on our 2 week Christmas vacation. I think I will be doing 5 different posts with pictures. I seriously have over 700 pictures. So I figured it would be great to split up the pictures in sections.

Where Have I been?

Hi Everyone,

I have been MIA for a few weeks now. I have seriously had so much going on, I have been a crazy lady; getting ready for all the holiday stuff, holiday art festivals, (4 in a row)! I am now relaxing in AZ with my in-laws. I have been taking so many pictures but I forgot my camera cord to download pics.. aughh. So when I get back into town I will be uploading a bunch of new posts and such.

I wanted to get a little bit more real here... another reason for not blogging is that I miscarried 2 weeks ago, and have been in a little bit of a funk. Travis and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now. And when we finally decided to give up trying last month because we're moving back to California in the spring, then we got pregs. that's what everyone says. You get pregnant when you stop trying ...

Anyways we are planning to MOVE!! yes! I'm very excited all of this is happening. Maybe you can see why I haven't been blogging so much, because of all these life changes are happening.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas... we went to Travis's parents cabin for 3 days, rode the ATV's alot looking for elk and deer. We did see alot of fresh tracks, and few Elk ran in front of one of our ATVs.! so that was cool! I also spotted a coyote and I yelled "wolf!" and Travis said, "there's no wolves here, its a coyote." we also took Teags sledding with Grandma and Grandpa. Now we plan to drive to California tomorrow for 5 days. We have alot of great friends there and everyone is having babies! So more fun and excitement coming our way! and Hopefully a day at Disneyland! Happy New year all!

Boulder CO Trip

This past week was a bitter sweet trip to CO. Travis ( the hub) older half brother, Kent, past at the age of 43. All of Travis's family flew out from all over, Dallas, AZ, San Francisco. It was really great to be together since we only see each other once or twice a yr. But under the circumstances it was tough. The day after the funeral we went to Boulder to see the house Travis lived in when he was born until the age of 2. It was seriously amazing! I wish they still owned it. It was a chalet type house in the foothills of the Rockies, deer were every where as you can see in the pictures. It was so beautiful. It was a short 3 day trip. Here are a few pictures.

Family Adventures November 27th

This pass weekend we decided to do another family adventure to Connecticut. We checked out B.F Clyde's Cider Mill! It was really cool and had the best fresh apple cider and cider donuts I have ever had!

Its the oldest steam powered cider mill in the USA!

We also stumbled upon Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center

They had some great trails and open meadows to wonder on.

This Past weekend my little family and I, tried to soak up as much outside activities as possible. The cold is just around the corner . We went to the Bristol Audubon Society Saturday and took a nice drive Sunday through Putnam and Woodstock Conn. Hi Everyone, I'm sorry my posts have been so random lately, my life has been very random . On that note, Today is my seven yr wedding anniversary! And Last night my sister was in town from Portland Oregon and we went to Smashing Pumpkins! My first Tape ( yes I am showing my age 32) I bought was GISH when i was 12. Good morning! I drove in late last night from Washington DC. It was an interesting trip. It was actually pretty tough trip. Hitting alot of traffic on the way down making it a 10hour drive instead of 7 1/2. We brought our 5 yr old, So he was getting pretty antsy by the end of the trip and i was too!

The day of the show the weather was AWFUL! It rained almost all day, which actually didn't stop people from shopping but it was wet and cold for the vendors. I also shared half a booth which can crowd the booth quickly. Sunday we really cruised around to see some sights, pic to follow tomorrow.

We have been back in Providence RI for almost 5 yrs now, and one of my husbands quests since moving here was to find a good Mexican restaurant. My husband is from AZ and we meet and got married in California almost 7yrs ago. Travis (the hub) introduced me to good Mexican when we met in California and since then, I have been hooked. We have a passion for good Mexican food. To say the least when Viva Mexico opened up downtown we were there with bells on. Anyways here are a few shots from the grand opening.

How did you start working with your art, illustration, etc?
I've always loved drawing and painting. I majored in theatrical set design in college and worked designing and painting sets for several years. But once I had our second son I realized I needed something I could do from home that was creative yet flexible and laid back. That's when I found out about Etsy. I started creating and selling illustrated postcards. Then I invested in my Epson R1800 printer and started selling prints! Lots of my art has been created with a toddler in my lap and/or a kid dressed as some sort of superhero painting next to me.

What is your most favorite thing about creating?

Making something out of nothing! I love starting with a blank canvas with just a thought, song lyric, or emotion in mind. Figuring out how to communicate that story with the right colors, textures, lines, etc is such a fun, satisfying process.

What are you working on now or recently?
My husband, Daniel, and I recently finished our fourth animated music video for one of our favorite musicians, Josh Garrels. We both collaborated on the story line and worked together to create all the illustrations. Then Daniel animated it. Working with Daniel and collaborating with Josh was such an amazing process, marrying art and music to create a beautiful story.
Places or things that inspire you/your work?
My boys. Daniel is an amazing husband who inspires lots of happy love prints. My little boys, ages 6 & 3 (and one more due in Dec!) inspire all my courage and adventured themed art. Also faith. Art is often how I work out and express the highs and lows in my relationship with God. Annnnd coffee. I love a good cup of iced coffee : )

ReCAP Festival Fete East Greenwich Style

I wanted to post this earlier but I'm just getting around to it late tonight 11:15pm.

I did a festival yesterday called Festival Fete in East Greenwich. It was a great day, alot of people attended and I did sell a few originals. Which always feels great!
